You can read all of our policies in full on our Pilot Handbook. It's conveniently located on our resources page. However, as a basic rundown, here's what you should know about Southwest Virtual.
Treat everyone with respect. We are all equals at Southwest Virtual.
File a flight at least once every seven (7) days.
Fly only on the Training and Expert servers.
Maintain an active presence on our Slack channel.
Avoid promoting other VAs, events, and YouTube channels on our Slack. The IFC is a perfect place for that.
When flying, be professional and realistic.
Again, these are just the basics and there are more detailed reports in the handbook. We encourage all pilots and any future pilots to look through this document.
To be clear, the following are never allowed at Southwest Virtual, and may lead to disciplinary action. We want our community to be a place for all, and a breach of our policies could threaten that idea.
Discrimination of any member due to race, religion, sexual orientation, age, and/or political ideology.
Threatening a member of our community in any way.
Posting anything inappropriate on our Slack Workspace. (This includes vulgar language or inappropriate or disturbing images or videos.)
Lying about flight time on a PIREP.
Advertising another VA on our Slack Workspace.
Breaching a Southwest Virtual Policy that is in our Handbook.
The following is our consequence system. Each action is assigned a level, and action depends based on each level.
Level I Offense: Written warning from Executive Management and five hours removed from the pilot's record.
Level II Offense: 1 Week Suspension from all Southwest Virtual-related activities, plus a 15 hour deduction from the pilot’s record.
Level III Offense: Termination from Southwest Virtual. Will not be allowed re entry under any circumstances.
